On the flip side…

With today being Shrove Tuesday, here at Celtic Sheepskin we are all salivating at the thought of pancakes for dinner and, more specifically, what we’re going to fill them with (maple syrup will be my first choice!). After gorging on pancakes, Ash Wednesday traditionally marks the beginning of Lent, a time when many people choose to give something up for these next 46 days up until Easter Saturday.

To mark the occasion, we thought we would have a bit of fun! We have calculated how much you would save from giving up some of the more usual vices, suggesting some of our favourite items from our new Spring/Summer 2011 range that you could buy with the money you will save!

So, first things first, the one at the top of my list; chocolate! With the average bar costing around 70p now (don’t get me started on that one, I remember when a bar used to cost me 25p, giving me enough change for some penny sweets!), if you forego your daily chocolate fix over the course of Lent, you will save £32.20.

Now that’s not to be sniffed at, is it?

Why not treat yourself instead to one of our 100% bamboo tees?

With delicate ruching at the side of the neckline and a draped design, the Asymmetric Tie Tee (£32) is sure to be a firm favourite this Spring.

Alternatively, the Winged Tie Back Tee (also £32) will appeal to those among you who love a bit of detail without being too fussy. It features a gorgeous tie back at the neckline and draped sides.

So hands up who will be giving up their two bottles of wine a week for Lent? If you do, at £7.00 a pop, you can enjoy having an extra £91 in your pocket! That’s enough to treat yourself to one of my favourite items, the Trapeze Jumper Dress. The broken stripe detail in this dress will flatter your figure and its floaty trapeze hem and neat capped sleeves make this item a must-have for your wardrobe. Quick, before everyone else spots it!

Ok, some of you still might not be convinced…but hopefully you will be by this last one;

This is the big one… If you currently smoke 20 cigarettes per day and you make tomorrow (Ash Wednesday, how appropriate!) the day you give up, by the time you get to Easter Saturday you will have saved a massive £276! Apart from the fact that you could probably go on holiday with that amount of money, you could also indulge in a whole new outfit, courtesy of Celtic Sheepskin;

Our sleeveless 100% organic flammé cotton Envelope Neck Knit (£85) is like a true flexible friend; its multitude of styling options (it looks great worn over a long-sleeved top) will take you through the seasons in comfort. Dress it down with your favourite jeans or dress it up with tights and a pair of our black, calf-height Classic Boots (£130) and a Tinder Pouch Bag (£48). This useful little bag, which can be worn across the body, is perfect for day or night.
Even after all of this, you still have £13 left to spend; now that’s what I call great value for money!
